Bisi Fakaye awakened the artistic talent in him early enough by taking in monumental challenges. In the 1960s, he cut his tooth helping his father, Lamidi Fakaye, an accomplished sculptor with his studio works. This brings him under the category of Nigerian contemporary artists who realized their careers through the apprenticeship system of training as against the formal. He is a studio artist and has his works in Nigeria and abroad.
