Born on the 30th of August 1938, Bruce Onobrakpeya is unarguably the most celebrated printmaker in the country. This may be prompted by his pioneering role and attendance of several printmaking workshops both in Nigeria and the U.S.A. pioneering graduate of the Zaria Art School, his solo exhibition began more than four decades ago and still showcase his artistic product of rare duplication both in the country as well as diverse countries of the world.

He is president of Bruce Onobrakpeya foundation and organizer of tha annual Harmattan workshop in Agbara Otor, Delta State, Nigeria. He attended Ahmadu Bello University of Zaria, - 1957-62. Attended series of printmaking workshops in Ibadan, Oshogbo, Ife and Haysatack Maine-USA.

He started Ovuomaroro Studio and Gallery-1980. Harmattan Workshop-1998, and was Artist-in-Residence in several institutions of Nigeria and abroad.
