Ini Brown was born on the 10th of May 1963 in Warri, Delta State. He came into early contact with art at the famous Government College, Ughelli, Delta State and proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, where he graduated with distinction and obtained a National Diploma, with a major in painting in 1987. He went into full time studio practice after his National Youth Service and the high point of his early artistic development was a solo exhibition at Woking, Surrey in the United Kingdom in 1990. Ini works in oils and acrylic but is renowned as a watercolourist.
