Veronica Otigbo-Ekpei was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, although of Edo State origin. As far back as she could determine, had always been fascinated by the natural flow of lines on tree trunks. This interest led her several years later to National Studio, Iganmu, Lagos where she underwent an internship. She also went through the department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos State where she graduated with a major in sculpture.

A fulltime studio artist, she has been involved in many successful exhibitions especially in Nigeria among which is the “Female Artists Art Exhibition” to mark Nigeria's 41st Independence Anniversary, Abuja.2001
